OUR MISSION

Continue to build Stone Wall Farm as a resource for the greater community. Utilize sound farming and land-use practices to provide healthy, high-quality food. Strengthen our food system by serving as a place for dialogue about food issues, and a teaching farm and model for other community-based farms.

HEALTHY LAND MAKES HEALTHY FOOD

We keep our cows and chickens healthy by sensitively managing the land from which they gain their sustenance. Healthy land means healthy animals and delicious, nutrient rich milk, eggs and vegetables. Stone Wall Dairy Farm milk, eggs and vegetables are produced without the use of antibiotics, synthetic hormones, herbicides, pesticides, or fertilizers.

We use farming methods that:

  • Improve soil fertility
  • Increase soil organic mater
  • Build top soil
  • Create a healthy farm eco-system
  • Minimize fossil fuel usage: Our milk is produced, bottled, and sold at our farm and is delivered directly to local markets

Stop by the farm to buy fresh raw milk, eggs and seasonal vegetables, as well as other locally produced, artisanal products, Stone Wall Dairy Farm Milk is also available in markets across western Connecticut.

Chris Hopkins

A long time resident of Cornwall, CT., Chris has been a farmer and carpenter for over 20 years. He purchased Stonewall Dairy Farm in June 2006 and is passionate about supporting regional, diverse and cooperative approaches to meeting our needs.
